I believe content that’s high-quality, timely and consistent can make a clear and positive impact on any organization.

When I graduated from the University of Houston in the fall of 2019, I was over the moon to immediately accept a position with UH’s Division of University Marketing and Communications. As a proud Houston Cougar, the opportunity to create content for my alma mater’s main social media accounts was a dream come true. A little bit of passion goes a long way — that’s a belief that I continue to hold firmly.

In my current role, I oversee the University of Houston’s main social media accounts and our small but mighty team. We work together to maintain a content calendar, create graphics, take photos, produce videos, share announcements and monitor community social media activity. I’ve led award-winning campaigns and developed nationally-recognized social media content. Ultimately, a single (yet complex) question guides all our content decisions: How can we bring value to our audience?

Since I began working on UH’s social media accounts in late 2019, its Instagram following has grown by over 65,000 users (a 76% increase) and the engagement rate has risen to routinely compete with industry leaders. In 2023, Rival IQ ranked the UH Instagram account as #7 in the nation among over 350 D1 universities. To compare, the account was ranked #241 shortly after I started in 2020.

Prior to managing the main University of Houston social media accounts, I created video content for UH Cougar Football. My responsibilities included shooting and editing cinematic social media videos, recruiting content, game day highlights and more.

I also have experience doing freelance photo and video work. From innovative online pharmaceutical suppliers, companies launching retail products and wealth management firms to local churches and schools, I’ve worked with a variety of clients to create content that elevates brands and achieves marketing goals.

I’m currently based in Houston and have a bachelor’s degree in media production with over seven years of professional experience.
